Counseling for Postpartum Moms

You felt like you were ready for this.

You’re a new mom and have spent the past year or so preparing for this new baby.

You’ve been reading all the books, getting all the advice, and preparing your home for this new addition.

And yet, here you are holding your new baby with tears of exhaustion and pain filling your eyes. You feel like a shell of yourself.

You look in the mirror and don’t recognize what you see. Your thoughts are filled with fears and anxiety about motherhood and your new child.

You feel guilty for feeling so overwhelmed, shut down, sad, and not being the mom that you thought you would be.

You question, “What’s wrong with me? Will things ever return to normal? Am I a terrible mother?”
You’re embarrassed to share your innermost thoughts with anyone around you.

Overlooked issues of motherhood

Postpartum is an overlooked and unattended part of the motherhood journey, and yet so many women find themselves completely overwhelmed and isolated in the months following child birth.

I’m here to walk you through this journey and to provide you with the emotional support, education, and tools needed for you to find yourself again and re-connect to yourself and family.

There is hope during this motherhood journey. With training in several procedures related to postpartum therapy, I will help you find the hope that you are seeking.

Pregnant moms or couples preparing for a new child

It can be beneficial to start mentally and emotionally preparing for the experience of bringing a new child into the world. When we have an idea of what to expect emotionally and how to prepare, we give ourselves the best opportunity for success.

Postpartum moms

Whether your child is one month old or two years old, you’re still postpartum and dealing with the adjustments of this new member in your family.

I will help you manage any anxiety and feelings of being overwhelmed or depressed that are present, and we will explore ways for you to thrive and take care of yourself during this time.
